Petrus Steyn Farmland Loop

Petrus Steyn is a small agricultural town in the eastern Free State — the kind of place most cyclists drive through without stopping. The 38km Farmland Loop makes a compelling case for stopping — open gravel roads through productive Highveld farmland with genuine rural solitude and the characteristic big-sky scenery that defines the eastern Free State interior.

What to Expect

Gravel farm roads on flat to gently rolling Highveld terrain through maize, sunflower and wheat farming country. The riding is steady and accessible for intermediate riders. The real reward is the solitude and the scenery — on a good autumn day with clear air and golden fields this is genuinely beautiful countryside.
