Kariega River Trail

The Kariega River runs through a spectacular coastal valley between Kenton-on-Sea and the Kariega Game Reserve — a pristine estuary system flanked by riverine forest and rolling hills where the boundary between game reserve and open landscape blurs. The 22km River Trail follows singletrack along the Kariega estuary with consistent river and lagoon views and the possibility of elephant and rhino sightings from the game reserve boundary.

What to Expect

Riverine singletrack on moderately rolling terrain through the Kariega valley. The estuary and lagoon create consistently beautiful water views. Dense riverine forest sections give way to open grassland ridges with wider views across the coastal valley. The Kariega Game Reserve boundary occasionally allows wildlife sightings — ride quietly.
