King William’s Town Farmland Ride
King William’s Town (Qonce) sits on the Buffalo River in the heart of the Eastern Cape’s frontier country — a historically significant town surrounded by the farming landscape where British settlers and Xhosa communities coexisted through decades of conflict and accommodation. The 30km Farmland Ride explores the gravel roads through this historic agricultural landscape with the Amatola Mountains visible on the horizon.
What to Expect
Gravel farm roads on gently rolling to moderately hilly Amatola foothills terrain. Settler farm buildings, Xhosa community homesteads and the varied land use of the Eastern Cape midlands characterise the route. The riding is intermediate in effort and the historical landscape adds depth to the riding experience.
