East London Beachfront Trail
East London’s beachfront is one of the Eastern Cape’s most vibrant urban coastal environments — a string of surf beaches, rock pools and seaside cafés along the Indian Ocean coast between Orient Beach and Nahoon. The 12km Beachfront Trail links these beaches on a relaxed, easy coastal ride accessible to all abilities.
What to Expect
Paved promenade and coastal paths on entirely flat to very gently rolling coastal terrain. The Indian Ocean is visible throughout and the beach atmosphere — surfers, swimmers, dogs and the salt air — makes this an enjoyable urban riding experience. Shared with pedestrians — ride at appropriate speeds, particularly on weekend mornings when the promenade is busy.
