Giba Gorge Black Route
The Giba Gorge Black Route is the most challenging trail at KZN’s flagship MTB venue — 22km of expert-level singletrack with technical rocky features, advanced gorge descents and the sustained physical demand of the gorge’s more severe terrain. This is the benchmark advanced ride in the Durban area.
What to Expect
Technical singletrack with rocky features and advanced descents on expert terrain. The gorge’s steep sides create dramatic descents with significant exposure in places. Expert bike-handling and strong fitness are both required — this is a genuine black-graded trail, not a hard intermediate. Conditions are critical: the rocky sections become very slippery when wet.
