Waterval Boven Elands Valley Loop

Waterval Boven (Emgwenya — Place of the Crocodile) sits on the edge of the Highveld Escarpment above the dramatic Elands Valley — a place where the flat Highveld plateau drops suddenly into a rocky gorge as the Elands River cuts through the Escarpment toward the Lowveld. The 30km loop explores this dramatic valley and Escarpment edge terrain on advanced singletrack and gravel tracks.

What to Expect

Singletrack and gravel tracks on advanced terrain with significant elevation change through the Elands Valley system. The Escarpment edge topography — sudden drops, rocky gorges and the dramatic transition from Highveld plateau to Lowveld valley — creates a visually extraordinary riding environment. The river below the Escarpment edge is visible throughout the valley sections.
