Sabie Castle Rock Yellow Trail

Castle Rock is the heart of Sabie’s legendary MTB trail network — a network developed over a decade of cross-country racing by the Sabie Chain-Gang Club and MAMBA (Mpumalanga MTB Association) through forestry land with access to some of the finest singletrack in South Africa. The Yellow Trail is the intermediate circuit: 22km of singletrack and jeep tracks winding past the Castle Rock formation, alongside the Sabie River and up into the Ceylon Forest.

What to Expect

Singletrack and jeep tracks on moderately hilly terrain through plantation and indigenous forest alongside the Sabie River. The river, the Castle Rock formation and the Ceylon Forest sections create constant scenic variety. The Sabie-area trails have a reputation for becoming extremely slippery in wet conditions — no slick or semi-slick tyres.
