Emalahleni Nature Reserve Trail
The Emalahleni Nature Reserve is an urban nature reserve in the heart of Witbank (Emalahleni) — a coal-mining and industrial city on the Mpumalanga Highveld that might not be immediately associated with mountain biking, but whose nature reserve offers accessible bushveld singletrack for the city’s large residential population. With 11 mapped trails on Trailforks, the reserve is a functional and well-used local riding destination.
What to Expect
Singletrack and reserve tracks on flat to gently rolling Highveld bushveld terrain. Game including various antelope species and the Highveld’s characteristic birdlife are resident in the reserve. An accessible after-work and weekend riding option for Witbank’s residents and a practical stopover trail for riders travelling through the Mpumalanga Highveld.
