Bergheim Short Loop
Bergheim Resort sits in the Magaliesberg mountain range — one of the world’s oldest mountain systems and the defining geological feature of the North West Province’s eastern corridor. The 8km Short Loop at this resort offers an accessible but physically demanding mountain ride with a noted steep climb and the spectacular views of the Magaliesberg range as reward. The route connects to the broader Magaliesberg trail network in the area.
What to Expect
Mountain tracks on moderately steep terrain with the characteristic rocky quartzite of the Magaliesberg underfoot. The climb is the dominant feature — short but demanding on the Magaliesberg’s ancient rock. The views from the upper sections over the surrounding plains are superb. A useful training loop for riders building toward the Magalies Monster race circuit in the area.
