Baviaanskloof Devil’s Ride
The Baviaanskloof Devil’s Ride is one of South Africa’s most demanding and rewarding mountain bike experiences — a 50km expert-level route through the heart of the Baviaanskloof World Heritage wilderness that tests every skill and demands full physical and mental commitment. The route takes riders through terrain that very few cyclists ever access, delivering views and wilderness experiences of extraordinary quality.
What to Expect
Technical mountain singletrack, rocky gravel roads and multiple river crossings on sustained mountainous terrain with significant elevation gain. The route traverses the mountain ridges above the kloof floor, delivering spectacular aerial views of the Baviaanskloof corridor. River crossings, technical rocky descents and extended exposed climbing define the character of the ride.
Expert Only
This route is for experienced, fit riders with strong technical skills and full self-sufficiency capability. Book in advance, attend the park’s pre-ride briefing and carry emergency communication equipment. This is serious wilderness terrain.
