Paterson Savanna Ride

Paterson sits in the Sunday’s River Valley adjacent to Addo Elephant National Park — a village surrounded by the Eastern Cape’s distinctive Valley Bushveld, where dense spekboom thicket covers the hills and kudu, bushbuck and elephant move freely across the unfenced landscape. The 25km Savanna Ride follows gravel roads through this rich wildlife corridor on the park’s boundary.

What to Expect

Gravel and dirt roads on flat to gently rolling Valley Bushveld terrain. The dense spekboom thicket creates an enclosed bush atmosphere — game is frequently heard if not always seen. Elephant venture regularly beyond the park boundary in this area — respect any wildlife encountered and give animals the right of way on the road.
