Misty Mountain Blue Route
Misty Mountain Reserve sits on the Ibika plateau between Gqeberha and Jeffreys Bay — a private nature reserve with a world-class spa and accommodation set among Eastern Cape fynbos and forest. The MTB trail system has four colour-graded routes and the Blue Route is the intermediate option — 18km of flowing fynbos singletrack with consistent ocean views from the plateau edge.
What to Expect
Flowing singletrack through Eastern Cape fynbos on moderately technical terrain. The fynbos vegetation is endemic and diverse — the plateau supports a remarkable variety of proteas, ericas and restios that give the trail a character unique to this part of the Eastern Cape. Indian Ocean views from the plateau edge are expansive on clear days.
Misty Mountain as a Base
The reserve’s accommodation, restaurant and spa make this an excellent destination ride — combine the riding with a spa treatment and a good dinner for a complete Eastern Cape MTB weekend.
