Hogsback Waterfall Loop
The Hogsback Waterfall Loop is the comprehensive forest ride — a 20km intermediate loop that connects the three most spectacular waterfalls in the Hogsback area: the 39 Steps, the Bridal Veil and the Madonna and Child. The route winds through indigenous Amatola forest on singletrack with the sound of mountain streams and falling water throughout.
What to Expect
Forest singletrack and gravel tracks on moderately technical terrain through the Amatola mist-belt forest. Three major waterfall destinations provide natural rest stops and photographic highlights throughout the loop. Rocky sections and roots on the forest singletrack require intermediate technical skills. The forest atmosphere — mist, filtered light, bird calls — is extraordinary.
Getting There
Hogsback via Alice on the R345. GPS: -32.5989, 26.9312.
