Marloth Park 8.6mi Trail
Marloth Park is a unique South African phenomenon — a residential wildlife estate on the southern boundary of the Kruger National Park where homeowners and visitors share their streets and gardens with free-roaming game including white rhino, buffalo, leopard, lion (occasional), giraffe, zebra and a remarkable diversity of Lowveld wildlife. The 14km trail follows the estate’s game roads through this extraordinary wildlife community.
What to Expect
Gravel game roads on flat Lowveld terrain through a wildlife estate where animals and people coexist on the same streets. Buffalo and white rhino are frequently encountered on the roads themselves — give all game the right of way and slow to a complete stop when animals are present. The Lowveld bird diversity, the subtropical vegetation and the wildlife around every corner make this one of South Africa’s most extraordinary riding environments.
Wildlife Note
Despite not being fenced from Kruger, elephant and lion do occasionally enter the estate via the Crocodile River boundary. Awareness and caution are required at all times.
