Potchefstroom (now JB Marks) is North West Province’s university town — home to North-West University and a large student and academic community. The 12km loop connects the university campus greenspace, the Mooi River cycle path and the town’s parks in an accessible recreational circuit. The city’s large student population has developed a modest but growing cycling culture.

What to Expect

Easy gravel roads and park paths on flat urban and riparian terrain. The Mooi River corridor provides the most pleasant section — tree-lined river banks with good birdlife. Suitable for all ages and abilities. The university campus adds architectural interest to the route.
