Ermelo Grassland Ride

Ermelo is in the southern Mpumalanga Highveld — a large agricultural town surrounded by the rolling grassland of the Highveld plateau that stretches south toward KwaZulu-Natal. The 30km Grassland Ride follows farm roads through this open landscape on easy terrain with the Highveld’s characteristic sense of wide-open space and big sky.

What to Expect

Gravel farm roads on flat to gently rolling Highveld grassland terrain. Easy and relaxed — the primary attraction is the open grassland landscape and the Highveld light. The area has good populations of grassland birds and wildlife including springbok and common reedbuck are occasionally visible from the farm roads.
