Bonnievale Circular Gravel Route

The Bonnievale Circular Route is the Breede River Valley’s most accessible and beloved gravel ride — a 64km loop on public gravel and tar roads through wine country that delivers exceptional scenery without a single technical challenge. Starting from Esona Boutique Winery or Coffee and Company in the centre of Bonnievale, the route skirts the Breede River, crosses into the fertile valley and loops back through Bonnievale Cellars with the Langeberg Mountains providing a dramatic backdrop throughout.

The terrain is flat to gently rolling — the Breede River Valley is agriculture country, not mountain country — making this ideal for anyone on a gravel bike, hardtail MTB or even a hybrid. The roads carry minimal traffic outside harvest season and the surfaces are generally in good condition. After the Ride
