Zwakala Microbrewery Loop

Zwakala River Retreat is one of South Africa’s most beloved craft brewery destinations — home to South Africa’s northernmost microbrewery in a beautiful river valley setting near Haenertsburg. The 15km loop starts from the brewery, follows gravel farm roads and singletrack through the surrounding Magoebaskloof foothills terrain and returns to the river retreat for the essential post-ride Zwakala craft beer. The combination of quality riding and exceptional post-ride destination makes this one of Limpopo’s most enjoyable MTB experiences.

What to Expect

Gravel farm roads and singletrack on moderately rolling Magoebaskloof foothills terrain. The avocado orchards, indigenous forest edges and the lush green Broederstroom valley create a beautiful riding environment. The Zwakala Brewery is open Friday to Sunday — plan the ride for a weekend visit to maximise the post-ride experience.

Post-Ride
