The Saasveld Singletrack Network is a community-built and maintained trail system on the scenic Saasveld campus of the South Cape TVET College outside George. Built and loved by the George MTB community, these trails thread through a mix of indigenous forest and plantation on the slopes above the Garden Route capital, offering surprisingly good singletrack in a beautiful and accessible setting.

What to Expect

The network features flowing singletrack through the varied terrain of the Saasveld campus — from accessible green options through shaded forest suitable for beginners, up to blue and red grade routes with more climbing, technical sections and views across the Garden Route toward the Outeniqua Mountains and the Indian Ocean coast. For riders willing to push upward, access to the George Peak area opens up serious XC terrain.

The trails are a community asset — maintained by George MTB Club volunteers and subject to campus access rules. Always check current access status on Trailforks or the George MTB Club Facebook page before travelling, as access arrangements can change.

Getting There

Saasveld Campus is approximately 5km from George CBD on the N9 toward Oudtshoorn direction. GPS: -33.9786, 22.4012. Contact George MTB Club via Trailforks for gate access instructions.
