Mokopane Urban Sprint

Mokopane (formerly Potgietersrus) is the Waterberg’s principal commercial town — known for its proximity to the Makapan Valley fossil sites (a UNESCO World Heritage Site where hominin fossils and ochre dating back 280,000 years have been found) and as the gateway to the Thabaphaswa Mountain Sanctuary. The 20km Urban Sprint follows gravel roads through the town’s agricultural fringe on easy terrain accessible to all abilities.

What to Expect

Easy gravel roads on flat to gently rolling Bushveld fringe terrain. The agricultural and bushveld character of the Mokopane surroundings creates a pleasant riding environment. A practical and accessible riding option for visitors to the Waterberg’s southern gateway town.
