Kruin Route 12km

The full 12km Kruin Loop at Mountain Sanctuary Park is the complete Magalies Monster race circuit — all 12km of the most challenging mountain singletrack in North West Province through the heart of the privately owned Magaliesberg reserve. ‘In the Bunch’ describes it as ‘not for the faint-hearted,’ and the Magalies Monster race status confirms the trail’s difficulty credentials.

What to Expect

Rocky quartzite mountain singletrack for the full 12km loop — technically demanding throughout with the full range of terrain the Magaliesberg’s 2-billion-year-old quartzite provides. Children can manage certain sections, but the full loop demands expert mountain bike skills. The Barnardsvlei Road provides an easier alternative dirt road option on the same property for those wanting a less technical experience.

Mountain Sanctuary Park strictly limits daily visitor numbers to preserve its quiet character — do not arrive without a booking. Day visitors: R100 adults, R60 children under 12.
